Professional Values

  • Combining understanding and knowledge in opposing health disciplines enables me to provide unique advice for those seeking an unbiased opinion regarding their health.

  • Getting to the bottom of health conditions requires extensive research of all forms of scientific evidence and traditional practices, comprehensive investigation and plan making, and diligent vetting of the quality, efficacy and safety of health products.

  • The traditional role of the doctor is in long-lasting partnership with those seeking health within the community. In the modern world, this means a highly professional, attentive and client-focused approach to form a health partnership built for success at any stage of life.

  • My goal is not just to provide a comprehensive service, but to also help my clients gain that knowledge and understanding of health for themselves, so they can know how to manage any health problems that may arise in the future, for themselves and for their loved ones.

  • The key principle for any honest doctor, dating back to ancient Greek times, but one that has strayed away from conventional practice. No intervention I provide will put my clients at any risk of harm, and all advice is given with absolute transparency.

Personal Health Journey

I experienced mild eczema throughout much of my life, but during medical school, my condition escalated dramatically into a severe, full-body flare. The pain from open, weeping skin became so debilitating that I had to pause my training entirely — unable to sleep, function, or find relief.

After exhausting the maximum doses of topical steroids and other pharmaceutical treatments, the next proposed step was methotrexate — a powerful immunosuppressant with significant risks and side effects.

Armed with the clinical insight gained through my medical education, I began to question why such aggressive interventions were being used when the root causes of conditions like mine remained largely unaddressed. The deeper I looked, the more I realised: conventional medicine, while essential, often lacks a complete framework for understanding and resolving chronic illness at its origin. For me, this was a profoundly confronting truth — and a turning point.

Unwilling to accept that there was no explanation for my suffering, I turned to the historical medical systems of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda and Natropathy to explore how eczema had been understood for centuries. Alongside this, I immersed myself in the latest advancements in nutritional science and integrative health — uncovering the critical roles of the gut, liver, and lymphatic systems, and the impacts of environmental toxins, parasites and bacteria in overall wellbeing.

Through this process, I came to understand the profound therapeutic potential of nutrition, herbal medicine, energetic balance and targeted lifestyle interventions. As I applied these insights to my own life, incorporating therapeutic nutrition and key botanicals, my condition gradually and then completely resolved. I was able to discontinue all medications and topical treatments — and, more importantly, I began to experience a level of health, energy, and clarity that I had never known before.

This transformation marked more than a personal recovery; it reshaped the course of my career. Since then, I have committed myself to helping others achieve that same level of restoration and vitality, through The Axis Method — an integrated and personalised health approach designed to uncover and resolve the true root causes of chronic illness.

The Axis Method

  • The Axis Method is named for the central point where systems meet and balance is restored — reflecting my belief that true healing happens at the intersection of conventional medicine and traditional medicine. It represents a unified, structured approach to personalised, whole-body health, and consists of 3 main principles:

  • A thorough investigative process that combines cutting-edge functional testing with key insights drawn from current medical research, classical traditional medicine texts, and progressive-practitioner case reports — all to identify the precise root causes of the client’s unique health condition.

  • Development of a bespoke health strategy grounded in extensive research into the safest and most effective therapies — drawing from traditional herbal medicine, therapeutic nutrition, and energy-based interventions — to directly address the identified root causes.

  • Dedicated collaboration and tailored guidance, aligning the health plan with the client’s unique life context, personal goals, and desired pace — while tracking key health markers to ensure measurable, sustained progress.

What is Naturopathy?

Naturopathy traces its principles back to ancient times, drawing its lineage from ancient Greece where physicians like Hippocrates taught that the body possesses an innate capacity to heal when supported by nature — a principle known as vis medicatrix naturae. Many comparisions can be drawn between this philosophy and other forms of traditional medicine around the world , such as Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda. Indeed, the main actions of intervention amongst all of these system rest on key beliefs in the healing power of nature, herbal plants, food as medicine, and energy balance and flow within the body. In the 19th century, this philosophy was revived in Europe through the Nature Cure movement, led by figures such as Vincent Priessnitz and Sebastian Kneipp, who treated chronic conditions using water therapy, plant medicine, and therapeutic lifestyle practices. The term “naturopathy” was later coined by Benedict Lust, who brought these approaches to the United States and integrated them with homeopathy and nutritional science.

For decades, conventional medicine and naturopathy have existed in parallel, yet rarely in dialogue. This, despite many key medications having their chemical origin from traditional herbal medicines. Conventional medicine, with its analytical rigour and methodical precision, has made remarkable advances in diagnostics and acute care. Yet in its focus on classification and control, it has, at times, grown rigid — slow to evolve, and limited in its capacity to fully address the complexity and root causes of chronic illness. The future of medicine lies in revisiting the wisdom of traditional healing systems — drawing from their holistic understanding of the human body and their deep relationship with nature. By integrating ancient principles with modern inquiry, we open the door to more complete, personalised solutions for the complex health challenges of our time.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • This approach shares many principles with functional medicine — including a focus on root-cause investigation, researched supplementation, and personalised care. With a foundation in medical training, it applies the same level of clinical reasoning and diagnostic precision expected within functional medicine.

However, it goes further. What distinguishes this method is its integration of underutilised yet powerful disciplines: traditional herbal medicine, energetic therapies, and global healing systems that predate modern medicine. It also incorporates ongoing research, including emerging insights not yet mainstreamed into conventional or functional models.

In essence, while it includes everything functional medicine offers, it is broader in scope and deeper in philosophy — bridging the clinical with the traditional, the measurable with the intuitive, and the scientific with the energetic.

  • This approach aligns closely with the principles of integrative medicine — which seeks to combine the best of conventional and complementary therapies to support the whole person. It shares integrative medicine’s commitment to personalisation, prevention, and collaboration across disciplines.

However, it goes beyond. While integrative medicine draws from established modalities, this method incorporates ongoing research and real-world insights drawn from clinical case reports and practitioner experience globally — including emerging findings not yet integrated into formal integrative frameworks.

It’s a more dynamic model — one that evolves with the evidence, honours the value of practice-informed clinical insight, and remains open to pioneering therapeutic strategies rooted in both science and traditional systems

  • While I hold formal medical training and licencing, and understand the appropriate use of pharmaceutical interventions, my approach does not involve prescribing medication.

Instead, I focus on comprehensive assessment, root-cause investigation, and natural therapeutic strategies — including nutritional, botanical, lifestyle, and energetic interventions — that are designed to support the body’s healing processes.

That said, the role of medication is at times necessary and I work with an understanding of how pharmaceuticals interact with the body and with natural therapies. Clients on prescribed medication are supported safely and holistically within that context.

To have a clearer understanding of the boundaries between this approach and my conventional medical obligations, you can read more in the Terms & Conditions.

  • While I am medically trained and fully able to interpret diagnostic test results, I do not provide formal medical diagnoses within the scope of this service. My role is to offer a structured, root-cause health analysis that draws on clinical reasoning, functional interpretation, and evidence-based insight.

Clients are encouraged to share any relevant test results as part of the investigative process, and where necessary, I may suggest speaking with a primary care physician or specialist to explore a formal diagnosis. This approach is intended to complement, not replace, standard medical care — offering a broader context and more personalised strategy for those seeking clarity beyond the diagnostic label.
