My approach shares many principles with functional medicine — including a focus on root-cause investigation, researched supplementation, and personalised care. With a foundation in medical training, I apply the same level of clinical reasoning and diagnostic precision expected within functional medicine.
However, through developing my own unique method, The Axis Method, my approach goes one step further. What distinguishes The Axis Method is its integration of underutilised yet powerful disciplines: traditional herbal medicine, energetic therapies, and global healing systems that predate modern medicine. It also incorporates ongoing research, including emerging insights not yet mainstreamed into conventional or functional models.
In essence, while it includes everything functional medicine offers, it is broader in scope and deeper in philosophy — bridging the clinical with the traditional, the measurable with the intuitive, and the scientific with the energetic.
-
My approach aligns closely with the principles of integrative medicine — which seeks to combine the best of conventional and complementary therapies to support the whole person. It shares integrative medicine’s commitment to personalisation, prevention, and collaboration across disciplines.
However, through developing my own unique method, The Axis Method, my approach goes one step beyond this. Whilst integrative medicine draws from established modalities, this method incorporates ongoing research and real-world insights drawn from clinical case reports and practitioner experience globally — including emerging findings not yet integrated into formal integrative frameworks.
It’s a more dynamic model — one that evolves with the evidence, honours the value of practice-informed clinical insight, and remains open to pioneering therapeutic strategies rooted in both science and traditional systems.
-
Whilst I hold formal medical training and licencing, and understands the appropriate use of pharmaceutical interventions, my approach does not involve prescribing medication.
Instead, I focus on comprehensive assessment, root-cause investigation, and natural therapeutic strategies — including nutritional, botanical, lifestyle, and energetic interventions — that are designed to support the body’s healing processes.
That said, the role of medication is at times necessary and I work with an understanding of how pharmaceuticals interact with the body and with natural therapies. Clients on prescribed medication are supported safely and holistically within that context.
To have a clearer understanding of the boundaries between this approach and my conventional medical obligations, you can read more in the Terms & Conditions.
-
Whilst I am medically trained and fully able to interpret diagnostic test results, I do not provide formal medical diagnoses within the scope of this service. My role is to offer a structured, root-cause health analysis that draws on clinical reasoning, functional interpretation, and evidence-based insight.
Clients are encouraged to share any relevant test results as part of the investigative process, and where necessary, I may suggest you speak with a primary care physician or specialist to explore a formal diagnosis. My approach is intended to complement, not replace, standard medical care — offering a broader context and more personalised strategy for those seeking clarity beyond the diagnostic label.
-
I do not provide formal medical diagnoses or replace your primary medical care. However, I can interpret existing medical results, provide comprehensive functional assessments, and write supporting letters summarising your health findings and recommendations, which may be shared with your GP or other practitioners if appropriate.
-
My approach is designed to complement, not conflict with, conventional care. If you are currently receiving medical treatment, I ensure that all recommendations are compatible and coordinated with your ongoing care. Collaboration with your healthcare team is encouraged whenever possible to create a safe, integrated plan that enhances your overall health outcomes.
-
Home visits may be arranged in special circumstances within London, subject to location and individual needs. However, an initial consultation will be required. Most consultations are conducted either in person at my London practice or online.
-
When clinically relevant, I can provide referral letters for laboratory testing, specialist consultations, or complementary therapies. However, some medical services only accept referrals from your medical physician, and in these cases I cannot provide a referral letter as I am not providing medical care.
-
Yes, when appropriate. Ondamed & PEMF Therapy
-
PEMF stands for Pulsed Electromagnetic Field therapy, a non-invasive method that delivers gentle, very low frequency electromagnetic fields to the body with the aim to stimulate cellular repair, improve cellular metabolism, and support tissue regeneration.
-
ONDAMED is an advanced technology that uses focused pulsed electromagnetic fields (PEMF) combined with bio-feedback to identify and support areas of energetic imbalance within the body. It is both a therapeutic and assessment device.
-
ONDAMED aims to support a wide range of conditions, particularly those involving:
inflammation,
pain,
fatigue,
emotional stress,
digestive disorders,
hormonal imbalance,
autoimmune conditions,
cardiovascular and metabolic health,
stress-related disorders,
anxiety,
sleep issues,
skin conditions,
musculoskeletal pain and recovery,
recovery after illness or burnout.
It is also valuable for preventive care and energetic balance.
-
ONDAMED uses several applicators — such as the neck applicator, handheld applicator, and matrix applicator — each designed to target specific regions or systems of the body. Their shapes and field patterns allow for precise local or systemic stimulation depending on therapeutic goals.
-
During assessment, ONDAMED identifies areas of disturbed resonance in the body by using a bio-feedback system. This helps guide therapeutic focus and reveals patterns of stress, inflammation, or energetic imbalance that may underlie symptoms.
-
Bio-feedback refers to measuring subtle physiological signals — such as pulse, heart rate, or blood pressure — to gain insight into how the body responds to internal and external stimuli. It enables more personalised and adaptive therapy.
-
ONDAMED’s biofeedback system works through changes in the radial pulse. As pulsed electromagnetic fields are gently applied, the practitioner detects specific pulse responses that indicates areas of imbalance. This guides both assessment and therapy selection.
Ionic Foot Bathing
-
Ionic foot bathing is a gentle, non-invasive detoxification therapy that uses water, minerals, and a mild electrical current to generate charged ions. As you soak your feet in the warm solution, these ions help support the body’s natural elimination processes through subtle electrical interactions with the skin and circulatory system.
-
The ionic process is designed to assist the body in releasing accumulated metabolic waste and environmental toxins. It helps rebalance the body’s internal electrical energy, which may improve vitality, circulation, and a sense of wellbeing. Many clients describe feeling lighter, clearer, and more energised after a session.
-
Ionic foot bathing may benefit those experiencing fatigue, low energy, sluggish metabolism, mild swelling, or toxin accumulation related to lifestyle or environmental exposure. It is often used as part of a broader detoxification and wellness programme to support the body’s natural processes of cleansing and renewal.
Reflexology & Meridian massage
-
Reflexology points are specific areas on the feet, hands, or ears that correspond to internal organs and systems. Stimulating these points can influence related areas of the body through energetic pathways.
-
Meridian are energy pathways described in Traditional Chinese Medicine through which vital energy, or Qi, flows. They connect organs, tissues, and emotions in a dynamic network that maintains balance and health. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, there are various points on the surface of the body where these energy pathways can be accesseed and stimulated.
-
Massaging Reflexology points and Merian points aims to help clear blockages in energy flow, improve circulation, and activate the body’s self-healing responses. It also helps by promoting deep relaxation and better function of organ systems.
-
Reflexology and meridian massage may assist with stress reduction, pain management, digestive function, hormonal balance, and improved sleep and energy flow.
Naturopathy
-
Naturopathy is a holistic health system that aims to restore health by supporting the body’s innate healing capacity. It combines therapeutic nutrition, herbal medicine, lifestyle medicine, and other alternative therapies to tackle root causes of disease rather than symptoms.
-
Naturopathy traces its principles back to ancient times, drawing its lineage from ancient Greece where physicians like Hippocrates taught that the body possesses an innate capacity to heal when supported by nature — a principle known as vis medicatrix naturae. Many comparisions can be drawn between this philosophy and other forms of traditional medicine around the world , such as Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda. Indeed, the main actions of intervention amongst all of these system rest on key beliefs in the healing power of nature, herbal plants, food as medicine, and energy balance and flow within the body. In the 19th century, this philosophy was revived in Europe through the Nature Cure movement, led by figures such as Vincent Priessnitz and Sebastian Kneipp, who treated chronic conditions using water therapy, plant medicine, and therapeutic lifestyle practices. The term “naturopathy” was later coined by Benedict Lust, who brought these approaches to the United States and integrated them with homeopathy and nutritional science.
Ayurvedic Medicine
-
Ayurvedic Medicine is the ancient medical system native to India. It priciple is to balance the body’s three constitutional types, or Doshas — Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. These represent the fundamental biological energies that govern all physical and mental processes. It uses diet, herbs, and lifestyle practices to maintain harmony between body, mind, and spirit.
-
Ayurvedic medicine commonly includes herbs such as Ashwagandha, Turmeric, Triphala, Shatavari, and Brahmi, among others, chosen based on each individual’s constitution and imbalance.
-
Chakras are a key principle that stems from Ayurvedic Medicine. Chakras are energy centres located along the spine that regulate the flow of physical, emotional, and spiritual energy. Each chakra is associated with specific organs and psychological functions.
-
Energetic imbalances within the Chakras can manifest as physical or emotional symptoms. Working to rebalance these centres can support emotional processing, organ function, and the body’s natural self-healing processes.
-
In Ayurveda, the three Doshas — Vata, Pitta, and Kapha — represent the fundamental biological energies that govern all physical and mental processes. Vata embodies movement and communication, linked with air and space; it regulates the nervous system, circulation, and creativity. Pitta, associated with fire and water, governs digestion, metabolism, and transformation — both physically and mentally. Kapha, representing earth and water, provides structure, stability, and emotional calm. Each person has a unique balance of these Doshas, and understanding your dominant type helps guide diet, lifestyle, and herbal recommendations for optimal health.
Traditional Chinese medicine
-
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a comprehensive healing system developed over thousands of years, originating from ancient China. It views health as a balance of Qi (vital energy) flowing through meridians and uses acupuncture, herbal medicine, and movement practices to resolve imbalances and restore harmony.
-
Trditional Chinese Herbal medicine uses thousands of plant, mineral, and sometimes animal-derived substances, often in precise combinations. Common examples include Ginseng, Astragalus, Licorice Root, Reishi, and Ginger.
-
Meridians are the channels through which energy (Qi) flows, linking organs, emotions and systems. Each meridian corresponds to a major organ and emotional function.
-
When energy flow within a meridian is blocked or reduced, it can lead to physical or emotional symptoms. Restoring the balance within the meridian helps re-establish harmony, reduce symptoms, and promote healing.
Herbal medicine
-
Herbal medicine is supported by a growing body of scientific research, alongside centuries of traditional clinical use. Many plant-based compounds have been shown through modern studies to possess measurable pharmacological effects — such as anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, adaptogenic, and antioxidant actions. Several conventional drugs, including aspirin, digoxin, and metformin, were originally derived from medicinal plants. While evidence quality varies between herbs and conditions, there is strong and increasing support for the use of standardised herbal extracts in areas such as digestive health, hormonal balance, stress regulation, and immune support. Our approach combines traditional wisdom with up-to-date clinical evidence to maximise both safety and efficacy in every recommendation.
Bach Flower Remedies
-
Bach Flower Remedies are a collection of 38 natural essences developed by Dr Edward Bach, a British physician and homeopath in the early 20th century. Each remedy is derived from the essence of wildflowers and plants and is designed to address specific emotional or mental states that may influence physical health and wellbeing.
-
Bach Flower Remedies work on an energetic level of nature to harmlessly restore emotional balance and harmony. By supporting the release of stress, fear, worry, or other negative emotional patterns, they help the body’s natural healing processes function more effectively. Clients often experience a greater sense of calm, clarity, and emotional resilience when these remedies are used as part of a holistic care plan.
Nutritional Therapy
-
Nutritional Therapy is a personalised, evidence-based approach to health that uses food, nutrients, and lifestyle strategies to support optimal function of the body’s systems. It focuses on identifying and addressing underlying imbalances — such as inflammation, nutrient insufficiency, or digestive dysfunction — rather than simply managing symptoms. Through a detailed assessment of diet, medical history, and functional markers, a targeted plan is developed to restore balance, enhance energy, and support long-term wellbeing.
Functional Medicine Testing
-
It is called Functional Medicine because its focus is on restoring the optimal function of the body’s systems — rather than merely treating or suppressing disease. The term “functional” reflects the goal of understanding how and why normal biological processes have become disrupted, and using personalised interventions to help those systems function properly again. This approach values physiology over pathology, working to bring the body back into balance so that it can heal and maintain health naturally.
-
Functional Medicine Testing refers to a range of advanced laboratory investigations used to assess how well the body’s systems are functioning, rather than simply screening for disease. These tests explore key areas such as nutrient status, hormonal balance, digestive health, detoxification capacity, inflammation, and metabolic function. By identifying subtle imbalances and physiological patterns, Functional Medicine Testing helps uncover root causes of symptoms and guides the development of highly personalised, targeted health plans.
-
Functional Medicine Testing can reveal hidden imbalances that often underlie chronic symptoms or unexplained health concerns. By measuring how your body is functioning at a biochemical, hormonal, and metabolic level, these tests provide a detailed picture of your unique physiology. This information helps identify specific nutritional needs, toxic or inflammatory burdens, microbial imbalances, or hormonal disruptions that may be contributing to your symptoms. Understanding these patterns allows for a truly personalised health recommendations — ones that target the root causes of imbalances, support recovery, and optimise long-term health and vitality.
